2009 Warriors of Dirt — R.I.P.
Radical Intense Performance for this 2009 Season begins May 30th at Madras Speedway. This entertainment momentum continues from the 2008 Season Finale where Scott Puncochar # 14 took home $5,000. For this May 30th event, competitors will earn $175 TO START, $175 Hard Charger, $600 to Win, and Good Year contingency cash. Competition will include Ford vs. GM motors, Goodyear vs. Hoosier vs. American Racer tires, Rayburn vs. Mastersbilt vs. Rocket chassis and of course, W.o.D. drivers vs. the technical racing surface of Madras Speedway.
The racing format and cost to race changed from last year, as Director Katie Ireland reduced the pill draw to $50 which includes transponder rental. The format will provide qualifying, heat races, and then the mains, which will be complete inverts from the qualifying times. Passing points and finish points will pour into the determination of who will be the next W.o.D. Tour Champion.

Roseburg Race Cancelled
Due to the added expense of new tires and wheels, I have decided to cancel Roseburg's race this Saturday. I apologize for the late announcement, however the promoter was trying to see if we could get free take offs that will fit the 14" wide wheels we run, but was unsuccessful.
Thank you all for your patience.

2009 Schedule released
The tentative 2009 Warriors of Dirt has been released. Please check the schedule page for the latest information.
The Merging of Two Series
The WOD and Sunset Speedway are proud to announce the official true merging of their Crate Late Models creating a “WOD Touring Series” and a “WOD Sanctioned Sunset Speedway Late Model Division”. This merger, formed with hard fought negotiation, was formed to serve the racer and the racing community. The two series will have the same rules, the same point structure, and the same cost.
This merger will bring change but most importantly it brings opportunity; an opportunity to create a more economical, more competitive and more challenging series for each of our drivers. An opportunity for the racer to benefit not only financially but through friendship, increased fans and pure competition. A series that will one day compare to the series' formed and created back east.
The next few days will bring the specifics; the new point structure, the new schedule, the new increased payout, and the new rules. Please be patient with me as I release the information as most is still in the works. Jerry and I both have worked hard to find a solution and to incorporate both the racers who want to tour as well as those who want to stay local. We have kept in mind that crate racing is supposed to be an economical venue for the racer. This will be evident in the upcoming releases.
This next season brings growth, change, opportunity. A respect for the past, with a look towards the future.
